This exhibition displays Kamoda Shōji (1933-1983)'s work, from his early through his late periods. Rather than providing a conventional retrospective, however, its emphasis is on reevaluating the works from his Mashiko period, during which Kamoda distinguished himself as an artist. Rather than retracing his path and changes in style, it explores anew the route by which the artist's creative concepts and techniques developed beautiful, fresh works, the route that, at times struggling, he pioneered.
